Doug Benson, Gogol Bordello will headline Emerald Cup 2018 in Santa Rosa

Celebrities, musicians, cannabis growers and industry bigwigs will converge in Santa Rosa this December, gathering at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds for the 2018 Emerald Cup. With a permit in hand, organizers have been busy finalizing the list of performers and vendors at this year’s event.

The Cup is a celebration, of course, of all things cannabis. But in recent years, the event has evolved to encompass the lifestyle, growing and entertainment of the cannabis world, along with panels focused on regulation and health.

Comedian Doug Benson will host this year’s event. Benson may be best known for the 2007 documentary “Super High Me,” following his 30 day stint abstaining from pot. He’s more recently found a loyal following with his podcast “Doug Loves Movies” and web series “Getting Doug with High.”

Gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello will headline the expanded music lineup, which also features Big Gigantic, reggae revivalist Protoje and Nashville singer-songwriter Margo Price. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks, according to festival organizers.

Last year’s event saw The Roots, Portugal the Man and Gramatik performing. Vendors haven’t yet been announced, but it’s safe to say some of the world’s best bud will be on display at the harvest event.

Lori Ajax, Chief of the California Bureau of Cannabis Control, will again speak at the 2018 Emerald Cup.

Early bird and VIP passes are available for purchase through the Emerald Cup website, as well as ticket retailer Eventbrite. Weekend passes start at $120 and attendees must be over the age of 21.
