Marijuana mysteries and pot on the ballot

After an unseasonable hiatus, the pot blog is back. Just in time for harvest.

SF Weekly reported that Mendocino County activist Pebbles Trippet has joined others in the march toward getting an initiative before voters that would legalize marijuana. Read Trippet’s “Repeal Cannabis Prohibition Act of 2012.”

632,058 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed from the Mendocino National Forest during Operation Full Court Press.

During the raids, 132 people arrested on various federal and state charges, including marijuana, firearm and immigration violations.

“Where don’t they grow (marijuana) in Mendocino County,” was the statement made by Mendocino County sheriff’s officials in response to community concerns that an environmentalist who was shot and killed while clearing brush on a remote ranch may have been killed by marijuana growers.

Mendocino County Supervisor Dan Hamburg quits a medical marijuana dispensary committee after his daughter decides to set up a pot club.

Authorities continue to investigate the deaths of two Santa Rosa men slain in a pot garden near the Napa-Sonoma c0unty line.

“community concerns that an environmentalist who was shot and killed while clearing brush on a remote ranch may have been killed by marijuana growers.”

This is an unsubstantiated statement rumor promulgated by Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Kurt Smallcomb that has been discredited because the location on the coast is too cold for growing.

See also Kurt Smallcomb’s unprofessional personal letter published in the past 10 days in the Ukiah Daily Journal criticizing a published letter on the futility of marijuana eradication and the National Forest signed by Mendocino County supervisors Hamburg and Pinches.
